Abstract

Intoleransi makanan merupakan reaksi yang merugikan terhadap makanan, terjadi karena cara tubuh memproses makanan atau komponen yang ada dalam makanan. Intoleransi  disebabkan oleh racun, farmakologis, metabolisme, reaksi pencernaan, psikologis, idiosinkrasi, atau idiopatik terhadap suatu makanan atau zat kimia dalam makanan itu. Gejala umum intoleransi makanan termasuk masalah lambung atau usus (seperti refluks, kolik, muntah, diare, kembung, dan iritabilitas), tidur terganggu, mulas, ruam kulit, eksim dan gatal-gatal.

Abstract

Background: Adolescence is a stage where a person begins to pay attention to body shape and crave an ideal body. This attention to self affects the perception of body image. Obesity can cause conflict within itself and can cause depression.Those who feel dissatisfied with their appearance try to get an ideal body shape including eating unhealthy behavior so that it becomes an eating disorder.Aim : To analyze the relationship between body image perception and depressive symptoms with the incidence of eating disorders in obese adolescents.Method : An observational study with a cross sectional design on 25 students of the Medical Faculty of Diponegoro University using the Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire-Appearance Scale (MBSRQ-AS) test, the Beck Depression Inventory - II (BDI-II) and Eating Attitude Test-40 (EAT-40).Results : Body image perception, Negative evaluation appearance 2 persons, normal 23 persons. Negative appearance orientation 12 persons, normal 13 persons. Negative body area satisfaction 11 persons, normal 13 persons, positive 1 person. Normal overweight preoccupation 20 persons, positive 3 persons, negative 2 persons. Normal self-classified weight 22 persons, positive 3 persons.Depressive symptoms, 15 persons showed no symptoms of depression, 8 persons had mild depressive symptoms, 1 person had moderate depressive symptoms and 1 person had severe depressive symptoms.Eating disorders, 3 persons experienced eating disorders and 22 persons did not experience eating disorders.Evaluation of appearance has a significant effect on the incidence of eating disorders. p <0.05, OR = 23, and CI95% = 3.382 - 156,396.Conclusion: Appearance evaluation gives 23 times the influence of eating disorders.Keywords: adolescent obesity, body image, depression, eating disorders.

Abstract

BackgorundThe high incidence of malnutrition in the Jomblang village is partly due to a lack of knowledge about healthy food. Elderly has the ability to receive knowledge and skills about nutrition so that they can be directly targeted for programs to increase knowledge and skills in the field of nutrition. Pos Pelayanan Terpadu Lanjut Usia (Posyandu Lansia) is a health facility in the Jomblang village, consisting of the elderly. This study aims to describe the knowledge and incidence of metabolic syndrome in the elderly in the Jomblang village.MethodsThesestudy conducted in the area of Jomblang village, Candisari Village, Semarang City at the beginning until mid-2018. These was a descriptive study with 60 elderly subjects. The data taken were knowledge of metabolic syndrome, body weight, height, waist circumference, blood pressure, blood sugar levels and total cholesterol. Data were taken every month for 3 months.ResultsThe knowledge of the elderly about metabolic syndrome still low. After counseling and intervention, there was an improvement in nutritional status, the incidence of obesity decreased by 3.3%, eldery whose high blood glucose levels increased by 3.3%, elderly whose high cholesterol levels decreased 1.6%. Elderly people who had symptoms of metabolic syndrome are still 6 people (10%), but the elderly who had symptoms of pre-metabolic syndrome decreased to 10 people (17%). Thus, although there were increase in the number of patients with hyperglycemia, in general the symptoms of metabolic syndrome were decreased.ConclusionFurther research is needed to provide real interventions to reduce the incidence of metabolic syndrome in Jomblang village.Keywords: elderly, metabolic syndrom, nutrition knowledge

Abstract

Protein adalah makromolekul polipeptida yang tersusun dari sejumlah L-asam amino yang dihubungkan oleh ikatan peptida. Protein dalam makanan nabati terlindung oleh dinding sel yang terdiri atas selulosa sehingga daya cerna sumber protein nabati pada umumnya lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan sumber protein hewani.Salah satu faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap indeks glikemik dalam makanan adalah protein. Semakin tinggi kandungan protein dalam makanan maka indeks glikemiknya semakin rendah. Salah satu karakteristik protein adalah mampu memicu sekresi insulin tanpa meningkatkan glukosa darah. Hal ini dapat terjadi karena sekresi insulin yang dipicu oleh adanya protein relatif lebih lemah jika dibandingkan dengan karbohidrat. Selain itu proses pencernaan protein juga dapat memicu pelepasan hormon (kolesistokinin) yang dapat meningkatkan rasa kenyang. Oleh karena itu protein merupakan makronutrien yang memiliki efek rasa kenyang yang lebih lama dibandingkan dengan karbohidrat dan lemak.

Abstract

Background: Malnutrition remains a health problem in either developed and developing countries, caused by a variety of individuals and factors related to the disease. Caretaker/family support to help patient's intake, the attitude of the team manager of the patient, the procedure of advance examination, is an important factor to improve inpatients intake. But the association of knowledge, attitudes, and behavior patient's caretaker to the adequacy of inpatients food intake not yet unknown.Methods: This research is association research, performed at the Rajawali ward at dr. Kariadi Hospital with a total sample of at least 50 people. The measurement of knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of patient's caretaker use detailed questionnaire. The answer of the respondent's questionnaire or interview processed by computer software to know the depth and the association between the variables.Results: Most of the respondents are women and 1,5 times than men. The age of respondents mostly above 50 years old (32%). Most of them are primary school graduates (39,3%). 76% of Respondent's income are less than 2,3 million rupiah. 55,4% are married. The level of respondent's knowledge about patient's food intake shows a good level of knowledge. Respondent's attitude regarding patient's food intake shows positive attitude about nutrition and adequacy of patient's food intake. Respondent's behaviour regarding patient's food intake shows a good result.Conclusion: a good knowledge influence a positive attitude, a positive attitude related to the behavior to the adequacy of patient's food intake, while the level of knowledge was not significantly related to the behavior of the adequacy of patient's food intake.Keywords: knowledge, attitude, behavior, patient?s caretaker, food intake.

Abstract

BackgroundPregnant women in Indonesia not only experience deficiencies of macro nutrients, namely carbohydrates, proteins and fats, but also experience micro deficiencies, namely vitamins and minerals. Until now there is no definitive data on the intake of macro and micro nutrients in pregnant women in Indonesia, especially in Semarang. Therefore this study aims to describe nutritional status and nutrient intake in pregnant women Semarang.MethodsThestudy was conducted in the city of Semarang in 2018, using a cross sectional design, with a total sample of 44 pregnant women. Anthropometric data were obtained by measuring the Mid Upper Arm circumference. The intake data was obtained by conducting interviews using a semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire (SQ-FFQ) form.ResultsIn this study there were 12 (27.3%) pregnant women under the age of 25 years. there are still many nutritional status of pregnant women who are included in the less category which is equal to 38.6%. protein intake, vit B6, and omega 3 fatty acids most of the samples are in the less category. While most saturated fat intake is included in more categories,ConclusionMany nutritional status of pregnant women are included in the less category. In addition, most nutrients needed during pregnancy are still largely lacking.Keywords: pregnancy, nutrition, nutritional status, diet
